Job description

The Athletics Department Williams College is seeking a committed and knowledgeable Assistant Soccer Coach with a focus in Goalkeeping to join our staff for the upcoming 2026 season. The successful candidate will work with the men's and women's soccer programs, supporting both teams in all aspects of team operations and performance, with an additional area of responsibility in goalkeepers' training and development.


This position is a 6-month, 40-hour per week position with a salary of $23,400, and comes with a full meal plan. This role includes year-round benefits, a full meal plan during the 6-month period, and also provides full tuition remission of graduate school coursework after six months of employment.

The Williams soccer teams have enjoyed considerable success in recent years, with both teams consistently qualifying for the NCAA Tournament in past seasons. The women's team has won three national championships in the last decade, while the men finished as runners-up in 2022. The Ephs have enjoyed success off the field as well, with many players earning individual accolades including All-NESCAC, All-Region, All-American and All-Academic honors.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches in all areas, including:
  • Plan goalkeeper-specific development sessions and practice components
  • Run goalkeeper sessions for both the men's and women's teams
  • Deliver technical and tactical instruction tailored to individual goalkeepers
  • Conduct video review and performance analysis for goalkeepers
  • Track goalkeeper progress, workload, and performance trends throughout the season
  • Integrate goalkeepers effectively into team systems and tactics
  • Assist the coaching staffs in the planning and execution of practices, skills, video and other development activities
  • Provide support during games for each team including communication, adjustments, video, player and equipment management
  • Administrative office duties and support for all team operations
  • Other duties as assigned by head coaches

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and collegiate competing and/or coaching experience required
  • Experience working specifically with goalkeepers is desired
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively preferred
  • Knowledge of and commitment to NCAA and NESCAC rules
  • The successful candidate will be self-motivated and possess the ability to recruit, teach, and coach highly talented scholar-athletes who can succeed in a challenging academic environment
  • Valid driver's license is required


To prepare for the season & academic year, the anticipated start date for this position is the beginning of August, 2026.
