GrayWolf is seeking Fire Watch at Lebanon, IN project site

Summary:

The Firewatch/Confined Space Attendant performs a variety of tasks related to the safety, fire hazard and confined space work to ensure the job site and craftsman are working safely, within the issued permits and notifies authorities immediately of any potential dangers.

Essential Duties:

  • Act as Fire Watch, Hole Watch or Bottle Watch. 
  • Watches out for fire hazards in the workplace while work is performed by other employees. 
  • Maintains the conditions and requirements stated on the safety permit. 
  • Keep flammable materials from ignition sources. 
  • In the event of an emergency, follow protocol listed on the safety permit and immediately alert others of dangers in the area. 
  • Call 911 or emergency alarm number as needed. 
  • Stop operations (Stop Work Authority) if you find any hazardous conditions. 
  • Maintain constant means of communication with supervision. 
  • Be prepared to operate fire extinguishers, hydrants, fixed monitors and hose carts at any time. 
  • Always stay on the jobsite while work is being completed. 
  • Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards. 
  • Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervision. 

Qualifications:

  • This is an entry level position – however candidates with prior experience will be preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and accurately with employees and customers.
  • Must be able to successfully pass required Confined Space Entry training.
  • Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-hire requirements.

Physical/Site Requirements:

  • Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds.
  • Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with age.
  • Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
  • Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
  • PPE footwear/prescription safety glasses or eye shields required.
