Job Overview
Join Komatsu West as a Resident Mining Technician based in Ely, NV, an opportunity ripe for skilled technical professionals eager to advance their careers with a leading global equipment manufacturer.
We are seeking a Resident Mining Technician to support mining equipment operations at the Robinson mine in Ely, Nevada. This role is focused on maintaining and troubleshooting 830E-5 electric drive haul trucks and a LeTourneau WE1850 Generation 3 loader. The ideal candidate will bring strong electrical troubleshooting ability, solid mechanical fundamentals, and a willingness to learn complex mining equipment systems.
The schedule for this role is 7 on 7 off from 5 - 5.
Compensation for this position ranges competitively from $30.00 to $49.00 per hour, commensurate with your experience, technical skills, and dedication to excellence.
Additionally, this role offers a $2.00 differential pay for work performed onsite at Ely's mine location. Komatsu supports seamless work arrangements by covering travel and hotel expenses associated with assignments away from home base.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns on assigned mining equipment.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot electric drive haul trucks and loader equipment used at the mine site.
  • Perform and support preventive maintenance activities when machines are brought into the shop
  • Execute assigned maintenance and repair tasks efficiently, aiming to meet or exceed flat rate time benchmarks while minimizing rework to uphold quality and productivity.
  • Adhere rigorously to all Komatsu Equipment Company and customer safety policies, ensuring a secure working environment for yourself and colleagues.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly, including work orders, parts requisitions, job safety analyses (JSAs), and database entries utilizing systems such as DBS, SIMS, SIS web, and STW.
  • Apply strict contamination control and hazardous materials handling procedures aligned with company and regulatory standards.
  • Perform mechanical disassembly, assembly, testing, and adjustments with minimal supervision, utilizing your advanced technical skills to maintain equipment operability.
  • Provide clear and accurate quotations and pricing estimates to customers, facilitating informed decision-making and optimal service delivery.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions through detailed inspection and problem-solving techniques, offering effective repair recommendations based on analysis.
  • Conduct thorough testing and verification of repairs and adjustments to ensure full functionality and compliance with operational specifications.
  • Leverage general failure analysis methodologies to support precise diagnostics and effective corrective actions.
  • Foster proactive communication with team members and customers, reporting any safety concerns or operational anomalies promptly.

Qualifications/Requirements
