About this position
The Ann Blanton Edwards School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Florida Southern College is accepting applications for adjunct faculty to teach in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program. The required and preferred qualifications for teaching in the program are described below.
Applicants interested in being considered should submit a letter of interest and a curriculum vitae with the completed employment application. Please specify your interest in teaching in a specific program (BSN, MSN, or DNP) in the letter of interest. Also include a list of courses you have taught at other institutions, if any, in your curriculum vitae or letter of interest with course numbers and complete course titles.
A curriculum vitae and a copy of unofficial academic transcripts must be provided with employment application materials; applicants must apply online. Candidate official transcripts must be on file within 3 days of the start of a teaching assignment. Please request official transcripts from all colleges and university work (showing the highest degree earned) and have them sent to the attention of Sharon Brown, School of Nursing, 111 Lake Hollingsworth Dr., Lakeland, Fl 33801.
Applicants who receive their degrees outside the U.S. must have their transcript (s) evaluated by an approved educational evaluation service. This evaluation must be done at your own expense before being considered for employment by Florida Southern College.
Note: Adjunct faculty members are appointed to teach on a semester-by-semester and course-by-course basis.

Required qualifications to teach in specific program is as follows:
Doctor of Nursing Practice: Online Only
Description: The DNP Program at Florida Southern College is a leadership-focused post-master's program of study. The program is offered in a fully online format.
Ideal Candidate: The academic qualifications for adjunct teaching in the DNP Program include a terminal degree in nursing or related discipline and practice expertise in one or more areas pertinent to advanced nursing specialization (clinical practice, health policy, leadership/administration, community/public health, informatics). Licensure as a Registered Nurse is required.
Preferred qualifications: One year of online teaching experience in a graduate nursing program. Prior experience supervising DNP projects and practicum experiences is also preferred.
