Job description

Soil And Water Conservation Scientist

We're looking for experienced soil and water conservation scientists to help evaluate and improve AI systems trained on sustainable land and water management content. Your scientific expertise will directly shape how AI understands and communicates complex conservation topics — from erosion control to watershed management — making a real impact on how this knowledge reaches the world.

About the Role

  • Review AI-generated soil and water conservation scenarios for scientific accuracy and practical soundness
  • Evaluate content related to erosion control, watershed management, soil health, and conservation planning
  • Identify flawed assumptions, oversimplified reasoning, or impractical recommendations in AI outputs
  • Provide clear, structured feedback to improve scientific rigor, depth, and clarity
  • Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in soil science, hydrology, conservation planning, or a closely related field
  • Strong working knowledge of soil processes, water systems, and applied conservation techniques
  • Able to critically evaluate environmental science reasoning and applied recommendations
  • Comfortable reviewing and assessing technical written content
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and reliable

Nice to Have

  • Graduate degree in Soil Science, Hydrology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
  • Experience with field assessments, conservation planning tools, or regulatory frameworks
  • Familiarity with AI systems, content evaluation, or data annotation workflows

Why Join Us

  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects with top research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule
  • Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and global collaboration
  • Contribute to meaningful work that improves how AI handles critical environmental and conservation knowledge
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
