Job description

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Maintenance Technician to oversee the maintenance operations of our high-rise condominium building. The ideal candidate will be able to lead a team of up to five (5) employees and will report to the Property Manager.  Must also understand the importance of high-level customer service, attention to detail and the need for confidentiality.  

Responsibilities:

  1. Supervision and Leadership: Lead a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations.
  2. Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs of building systems including boiler operations, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  3. Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Identify and troubleshoot issues with building equipment and systems, implementing solutions to minimize downtime and disruptions.
  4. Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance and longevity of building systems.
  5. Emergency Response: Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies, coordinating with Property Manager to resolve issues quickly and safely.
  6. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment inventory.
  7. Compliance: Ensure compliance with local building codes and safety regulations.
  8. Other: Property maintenance tasks as assigned by Property Manager.

Qualifications:

  1. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in building maintenance, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  2. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of boiler operation, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. .
  3. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
  4. Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to interact professionally with residents, vendors, and team members.
  5. Organization and Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  6. Team Leadership: Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a team of maintenance technicians.
