We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cybersecurity Engineer II to provide critical Cybersecurity (CS) engineering support across various systems, ensuring the security, integrity, and compliance of complex Department of Defense systems. This role will involve working within the full system Life-Cycle, from analysis and secure design to testing, evaluation, and life-cycle management.

THIS POSITION REQUIRES AN ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE OR HIGHER.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Cybersecurity (CS) engineering services including analysis, secure design, testing and evaluation (T&E), systems analysis and assessment, and life-cycle management.
  • Support the implementation of cybersecurity and Information Assurance (IA) boundary defense techniques across various platforms and systems.
  • Implement and manage Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes for system accreditation and cybersecurity compliance.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments using tools such as the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS).
  • Perform Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) implementations and remediations.
  • Apply Cybersecurity best practices for various IA-enabled appliances including Firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Switches/Routers, Cross Domain Solutions (CDS), EMASS, and Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS).
  • Remediate cybersecurity vulnerabilities, including the application of vendor patches on both Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Provide support for Cybersecurity engineering activities related to total ship computing environments and other defense systems.

Required Experience:

Education & Certifications

  • Minimum certification as DoDD 8140.01 541 (or equivalent as required by the applicable Technical Instruction) at the Basic level, or successor requirement.
  • All personnel performing as Privileged Users must maintain a final adjudicated Tier 5 security investigation with an IT Level I designation in JPAS and/or DISS.

Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years of cybersecurity experience performing system hardening activities.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining STIG compliance.
  • Hands-on experience performing vulnerability assessments using ACAS.
  • Demonstrated experience remediating vulnerability findings, including applying vendor patches and security updates on both Windows and Linux operating systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting DoD or federal government environments.
  • Familiarity with RMF, vulnerability management processes, and cybersecurity compliance standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Clearance: Active Secret or higher required.
