The Informatics Program Analyst will provide analytical support for healthcare informatics programs and initiatives within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). The Informatics Program Analyst plans, analyzes, and evaluates program operations and business processes using qualitative and quantitative methods. The role analyzes source data, develops program metrics and reports, identifies trends and performance gaps, and provides recommendations to improve program effectiveness, workflows, and operational outcomes. The position requires relevant clinical informatics experience within a Veterans Administration healthcare environment.
Please note, this role if awarded is on a 9-month contract in which we are hopeful for an extension or additional work, but it may be only 9 months. Travel is listed as a possibility by our federal customer (short duration and small travel teams out of a much larger program).
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and evaluate healthcare informatics programs, operations, workflows, and business processes to assess effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.

  • Collect, validate, manipulate, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data to support program evaluation and decision-making.

  • Develop metrics, reports, dashboards, and other analyses to communicate program status, performance, risks, and trends.

  • Identify operational gaps, issues, and process inefficiencies and develop actionable recommendations for improvement.

  • Support EHR Go-Live, Post Go-Live, and informatics surge activities through data analysis, tracking, reporting, and program coordination.

  • Monitor program activities, milestones, risks, issues, and outcomes and provide timely status information to stakeholders.

  • Support continuous process improvement by analyzing performance data and measuring the effectiveness of implemented changes.

  • Collaborate with clinical informatics, program, and technical stakeholders to support program objectives and deliverables.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in program analysis, healthcare informatics, business analysis, operations analysis, or a related field.

  • Relevant clinical informatics experience within a Veterans Administration healthcare setting.

  • Demonstrated experience evaluating programs, operations, or business processes using qualitative and quantitative analytical methods.

  • Experience collecting, manipulating, analyzing, and presenting data to assess program performance and support recommendations.

  • Experience developing program metrics, status reports, analyses, and other decision-support materials.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written and verbal communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.

  • Ability to satisfy applicable Federal and VA personnel security, privacy, and information security requirements.

  • Potential travel is anticipated; must be able to support potential travel.

  • The ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting VHA clinical informatics, EHR modernization, or Post Go-Live operations.

  • Experience with Oracle Health/Cerner Millennium, VA VistA/CPRS, or related VA healthcare information systems.

  • Experience analyzing clinical workflows, operational metrics, end-user performance, or EHR-related business processes.

  • Experience with data visualization, dashboards, reporting, and performance measurement tools.

  • Experience supporting process improvement, issue management, risk tracking, or program performance evaluation.

  • Familiarity with SAFe® Lean-Agile principles and multidisciplinary healthcare informatics teams.

Benefits (including but not limited to):
  • Health, dental, and vision plans
  • Optional FSA
  • Paid parental leave
  • Safe Harbor 401(k) with employer contributions 100% vested from day 1
  • Paid time off and 11 paid holidays
  • No cost group term life/AD&D plan, and optional supplemental coverage
  • Pet insurance
  • Monthly phone and internet stipend
  • Tuition and training reimbursement

$90,000 - $104,999 a year
