Role: Field Technician - Access Control

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 

Pay Range: $40,000 - $65,000/annually depending on experience

BenefitsThe position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Job Summary

We are hiring an IT Field Technician with a strong focus on Access Control systems to install, support, and maintain physical security and IT infrastructure at customer sites. This role is hands-on, field-based, and ideal for someone with experience in access control hardware, networking, and customer-facing technical support.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and service access control systems (card readers, keypads, controllers, electronic locks)
  • Troubleshoot access control software, permissions, credentials, and system integrations
  • Perform on-site diagnostics for hardware, network, power, and cabling issues
  • Configure IP-based security devices and PoE network equipment
  • Run, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling (CAT5e/CAT6)
  • Document installations, service calls, and system changes
  • Provide basic user training and technical support
  • Coordinate with clients, facilities teams, and internal staff
  • Travel to customer sites for scheduled and emergency service calls

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as an IT Field Technician, Security Technician, or similar
  • Hands-on experience with access control systems (HID, Lenel, Brivo, Openpath, Honeywell, Avigilon, or similar)
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of TCP/IP networking
  • Experience with Windows OS and basic IT troubleshooting
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and floor plans
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CCTV / IP cameras
  • Active Directory or identity system integrations
  • Low-voltage or IT certifications (HID, CompTIA Network+, BICSI, etc.)
  • MSP or customer-facing technical support experience

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable climbing ladders and working in ceilings or tight spaces
  • Able to work indoors and outdoors as needed
