Work Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm with occasional evenings and weekends. ⁠This position participates in a regular on-call rotation and may be required to work occasional evenings and weekends to support operational needs.

About this Position

Incumbent will assist in monitoring, support and maintenance of campus and remote networks; perform seven-layer packet decodes; and provide general network support.

Requires interaction with supervisors, colleagues, and students using clear communication, tact, discretion, and independent judgement.

Required Qualifications
  • High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • Six months of related work experience.
  • Post-secondary education may substitute for years of required experience.

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

  • Basic knowledge of switching and routing devices including configuring and troubleshooting individual ports using testing equipment and packet analyzer software.
  • Basic knowledge of copper and fiber cabling formats and standards.
  • Basic knowledge of wireless networking radio frequencies and propagation.
  • Knowledge of and experience in testing network cabling using a variety of testing equipment.
  • Knowledge of and experience in network port configuration.
  • Knowledge of and experience in wireless access point and point-to-point equipment configuration.
  • Knowledge of and experience in troubleshooting network connectivity issues on customer devices such as laptops and mobile phones.
  • Knowledge of and experience in configuring phones in a VoIP phone system.
  • Knowledge of and experience in configuring voicemail boxes.
  • Knowledge of IPv4 networking.
  • Ability to lift at least 75 pounds.
  • Ability to work while on ladders and/or lifts.
  • Ability to drive a vehicle with a trailer.
  • Ability to operate a medium-sized generator.
  • Ability to work in a construction site environment.
  • Ability to triage and prioritize support tickets and service orders.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and up to date documentation.
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of vendors, contractors, and customers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's
  • Three years of enterprise networking experience.

Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA)
