Job description

Position Summary:

To assist the Field Representative Supervisor in performance of activities that are necessary to preserve the quality of Azteca Milling’s corn, as well as to support the Hybrids Evaluation Program and conservation activities outside and inside of the plant.

Responsible to understand own role in the Food Safety Management System by awareness of the importance and relevancy of their activities and to report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

Job Duties:

Essential Duties:  These duties directly and substantially serve to achieve the purpose of the position.

 

  • Collect and analyze samples of corn from farmer silos.
  • Travel to corn areas and check cornfields during the growing season.
  • To help in the planting and cultivation of corn research plots
  • Collect and analyze Hybrid Testing Program agronomic data.
  • Track and record pertinent information regarding the progress and results of plots throughout the growing season.
  • Responsible to understand own role in the Food Safety Management System by awareness of the importance and relevancy of their activities and to report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
  • Regular attendance is required to be able to perform job.

 

Non-Essential Duties:  These duties are part of the job however; the job would still exist without them.

 

  • Complete activities listed on the position-training matrix.
  • Receive and transfer corn to Production.
  • Miscellaneous and special projects as assign by the Field Representative Supervisor.

Education/Experience/Skills required:

  • High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, listen and comprehend English
  • Ability to communicate with other employees
  • Understanding of safety coding system
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to climb heights (ladders, stairs, etc.)
  • Kneeling (Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on level surface)
  • Pushing (Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward, and outward.)
  • Pulling (Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag,  haul, or tug objects in a sustain motion)
  • Lifting (Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position.)
  • Work both inside and outside environments
