  • Provide guidance and supervision to a small team of 2-3 developers.


Job description

Our client is currently looking an Electrical Engineer to join their casting Facility located in Dover, New Jersey. This shift will be primarily 1st shift but may need to work off-shift hours.


This role is onsite in Dover, NJ, 5 days/week.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute capital and non-capital projects involving:
    • 460/480V electrical systems and panels
    • Substations
    • Transformers
    • Electrical distribution equipment
    • CNC machinery
    • Robotic equipment
    • Heat-treat equipment
    • Casting and other manufacturing equipment
  • Manage electrical equipment installation, startup, commissioning, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Work with suppliers and contractors on the procurement and installation of production equipment and facility infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors on project pricing, scope, scheduling, and day-to-day project execution.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and industrial control systems, including PLCs, VFDs, motors, drives, sensors, and related equipment.
  • Support manufacturing and facilities teams with planned shutdowns, preventive and predictive maintenance, and equipment breakdowns.
  • Assist with root cause analysis, spare parts planning, TPM, Kaizen, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support plant environmental, health, and safety initiatives.
  • Review and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, control prints, and equipment documentation.
  • Provide technical direction to outside contractors and maintenance technicians.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related engineering experience.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial plant environment.
  • Hands-on project experience with the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of industrial electrical systems and production equipment.
  • Experience with electrical infrastructure such as:
    • Substations
    • Transformers
    • Electrical panels
    • Switchgear
    • Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
    • Industrial power distribution
  • Familiarity with 460VAC, 120VAC, 24VDC, and 5VDC systems.
  • Ability to manage vendors, contractors, and multiple engineering projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in casting, foundry, forging, aerospace, automotive, or other heavy manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with CNC machinery, robotics, furnaces, heat-treat equipment, or casting equipment.
  • Knowledge of PLCs and ladder logic.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, or Schneider Electric PLCs and drives.
  • Experience with VFDs, motors, drives, servos, and sensors.
  • Familiarity with RSLogix, ProWORX 32, SoMachine, or similar industrial automation software.
  • Experience with Yaskawa Motoman or similar industrial robotics.
  • AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar engineering design software experience.
  • Familiarity with electrical testing equipment such as Fluke meters.
  • Strong project management, troubleshooting, communication, and contractor-management skills.

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • This position may involve access to export-controlled items, and employment is subject to the ability to lawfully obtain such access.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is a hands-on plant electrical/project engineer who has managed electrical infrastructure and production equipment projects within a manufacturing environment. Candidates with strong experience in 480V power distribution, substations, transformers, switchgear, electrical panels, equipment installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting will be highly preferred.
