Animal Friends Humane Society is searching for a part-time Veterinarian to join our shelter medicine team and help turn strays into adoptable family members.

This is a surgery focused role with a supportive team, predictable hours, and meaningful work. No late nights, no client calls, and no upselling.

  • Oversee safe anesthesia and recovery, supported by an experienced RVT team
    (2 full-time RVTs + 1 part-time RVT!)
  • Lead intake exams and identify infectious diseases early to keep our shelter population healthy
  • Help manage medical cases to reduce length of stay and get animals adopted faster
  • Create and update practical medical protocols that empower RVTs to treat routine cases efficiently

  • Licensed (or eligible) in the State of Ohio
  • Ability to obtain a DEA license
  • Comfortable performing spay/neuter surgeries independently

Preferred (but not required):

  • Familiarity with low-stress or Fear Free handling
