Job description
Summary:
In this high-impact role, the Senior Manager, Animal Relocation – Operations and Fleet will collaborate and build strong relationships with Procurement, Facilities, Fleet, and key internal and external vendors and stakeholders to provide strategic oversight of the Animal Relocation fleet. This position is responsible for the proactive lifecycle management of all vehicles, ensuring they are meticulously maintained, tracked, stocked and meet the highest standards of safety and performance.
Who We Are
The ASPCA’s Animal Relocation department is tasked with providing effective, lifesaving animal relocation and transport. Using the theories of supply and demand, relocation saves lives by transporting animals from under-resourced shelters in areas of oversupply where the chance of adoption is slim, to shelters where the chances of adoption are greater.
What You’ll Do
A critical priority of this role is ensuring the continuous availability and operational readiness of the fleet to facilitate the seamless, nationwide humane transport of animals. The Senior Manager will execute comprehensive asset and inventory management, overseeing appropriate equipment selection, procurement, and optimal stocking levels across all six waystations/storage facilities and the Irving Park Warehouse. This is a vital role for a resourceful leader to directly advance our mission by safeguarding the continuity of our transport operations and ensuring the welfare of every animal in our care.
The Senior Manager, Animal Relocation – Operations and Fleet reports directly to the Director, Relocation – Logistics and has 1 direct report.
Where and When You’ll Work
This remote-based position (which requires travel, as described below) is open to all eligible candidates based within the Northeast, Midwest or South regions of the United States, to support in-person operational needs. While remote, this person must be available to work with staff across the country, with a majority of the work taking place in the Eastern and Central time zones. The work schedule includes frequent early mornings in the Eastern time zone, late evenings, some weekends and holidays.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% annually, as needed.
What You’ll Get
Compensation
The target hiring range is based on where the employee works, which for remote roles is the employee’s primary location of residence, and its respective cost of labor. You can view which zone applies to you based on your location (aspca.app.box.com/v/aspcazonetable). For questions regarding locations not on the list, please send an email to Careers@aspca.org for more information.
Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to education, training, experience, remote roles location, business needs, internal equity, market demands or budgeted amount for the role. The target hiring range is for new hire offers only, and compensation may increase beyond the maximum hiring range based on performance over time. The maximum of the hiring range is reserved for candidates with the highest qualifications and relevant experience. The expected hiring salary ranges for this role are set forth below and may be modified in the future.
Zone 1: $76,000 - $80,000 annually
Zone 2: $84,000 - $89,000 annually
