Knowledge Services is seeking a remote Data Governance Training, Adoption & Literacy Coordinator for a 12-month project (potential for extension) in support of the State of North Dakota.  

  • Local hybrid candidates are preferred, but remote applicants will be considered
  • For remote workers, occasional travel expenses would be covered by the state (potentially quarterly).
  • Please note that we cannot accept any candidates requiring C2C or those requiring sponsorship for a work visa

Data Governance Training, Adoption & Literacy Coordinator Overview:

โ€ข The Data Governance Adoption and Literacy Coordinator will establish a functional Data Governance literacy and adoption model by developing role-based competencies, steward onboarding standards, training materials, communications coordination, governance curriculum and practical guidance aligned to the enterprise data strategy.

โ€ข This role will also work with North Dakota Information Technology (NDIT) to ensure alignment with statewide data governance efforts, policies, standards, etc.

โ€ข Define role-based Data Governance competencies for owners, stewards, analysts, business users.
โ€ข Develop the HHS DG literacy framework aligned to enterprise data strategy.
โ€ข Establish certification/onboarding standards and practical guidance for data stewards.
โ€ข Design a governance capability roadmap across divisions.
โ€ข Coordinate with communications and change management teams on DG awareness and adoption.
โ€ข Develop tool proficiency guidance for glossary, metadata, standards and governance platform usage.


Data Governance Training, Adoption & Literacy Coordinator Required Skills:

โ€ข 5+ years in Data Governance, data management, training, change enablement, or enterprise program adoption.
โ€ข Experience with Data Governance trainings, workshops, and the like.
โ€ข Experience developing governance onboarding, steward models, or literacy frameworks.
โ€ข Strong writing, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
โ€ข Ability to develop clear training, onboarding, and literacy materials.
โ€ข Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred skills:
โ€ข Experience with Health and Human Services, public sector, or large enterprise environments.
โ€ข Experience developing data literacy, stewardship, governance, onboarding, or change enablement materials.
โ€ข Familiarity with business glossaries, metadata, data standards, reporting, dashboards, or governance platforms.
