Job description

Work hard, have fun, make history. That's what we do every day at Amazon. As a key leader within Amazon's Global Real Estate & Facilities (GREF) team, the Space Program Manager will own the end-to-end space allocation strategy for their assigned Finance Operations business units, driving results by managing complex programs across multiple stakeholders with competing priorities and tight timelines.
The Space Program Manager will take full ownership of aligning real estate strategy to business needs in partnership with key GREF stakeholders while maintaining a customer-centric approach

This role requires strong program management discipline: structuring multi-workstream initiatives, managing dependencies and trade-offs, and delivering on commitments in a fast-paced environment where requirements shift rapidly. The role will partner with managers, occupancy planning teams, and space management teams to implement workplace design, space, and move needs for their assigned team(s), in order to inform supply and demand allocations and change requests.
The Space Program Manager will be responsible for developing strategic recommendations to managers regarding their workplace design and space allocation, and translating them into GREF's broader business requirements that enable effective solutions in alignment with Amazon's overall workplace strategy.
The ideal candidate demonstrates ownership - proactively identifying gaps, driving solutions, and delivering outcomes without waiting for direction

They bring a bias for action - making high-quality decisions quickly with available data, taking calculated risks, and iterating rather than waiting for perfect information. They bring strong stakeholder management capability: navigating conflicting needs across multiple business units, building trust through transparency and data, and influencing outcomes at varied levels of the organization. They approach planning with rigor - developing structured programs with clear milestones, tracking progress against metrics, and proactively mitigating risks.

The candidate must be comfortable operating in ambiguity, escalating appropriately, and delivering results in incomplete-information environments.
Key job responsibilities
- Own end-to-end space allocation and program delivery for assigned Finance business units - from requirements gathering through execution and stakeholder communication
- Drive collaboration with business unit leaders to understand their real estate and portfolio needs, ensuring requirements are accurately captured, prioritized, and addressed on timeline
- Manage cross-functional coordination with Amazon Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Finance Leaders, Global Business Partnering (GBP) and Human Resources to validate headcount data (i.e., forecasted demand), proactively resolving discrepancies
- Own the end-to-end business-related deliverables for move projects, including origin lists, move notifications, destination lists, and other related tasks - managing these as structured programs with clear milestones and accountability
- Deliver defect resolution related to space allocation by identifying root causes, implementing fixes, and driving prevention mechanisms
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with business units, providing proactive updates and managing stakeholder expectations through data-driven reporting
- Identify and implement process improvements in move and space management operations - measuring impact, scaling what works, and raising the bar on efficiency
- Navigate a matrix reporting structure encompassing both dotted and hard reporting lines, influencing without authority and aligning competing priorities across organizational boundaries
A day in the life
This role blends data validation, stakeholder collaboration, and program execution. You validate headcount data, analyze space requirements, and deliver allocation recommendations while collaborating daily with RPM, GBP, SPOCs, Occupancy Planning, and MAC teams - serving as the connective tissue between these partners and the leaders you support. Work ranges from routine onboarding coordination to complex restacks with competing priorities and hard deadlines

You are heavily customer-facing, own monthly and quarterly business reporting that informs leadership decisions, and drive strategic alignment through data transparency and proactive communication.
About the team
This role sits within AMER Regional Portfolio Management (RPM), reporting through the larger Occupancy Planning organization. The team structure provides built-in partnerships with Occupancy Planning, Global Business Partnering, MAC, and SPOCs - giving the new hire a strong framework to ramp quickly. The Space Program Manager directly supports Finance Operations leaders as their primary customer and stakeholder, translating business needs into space outcomes

This is a dynamic, cross-functional team that indexes strong on Ownership, Deliver Results, and Earn Trust - we move fast, take accountability, and build credibility through consistent execution.
