Quality Control Specialist - Night Shift - Friday to Sunday (6pm - 6am)

Overview

We're looking for a detail-oriented Quality Control Specialist to join our team and oversee the inspection and verification of incoming raw materials, developing and maintaining Standard Process Instructions for the Operations Quality Team, and providing other necessary support to ensure high-quality products are shipped from our Manufacturing Facility located in Fort Worth, TX. This role also involves assisting the Senior QCS with coordination of the Calibration program, and, as necessary, completing the daily tasks of a Quality Control Technician. Collaboration with internal departments, problem-solving skills, and driving continuous improvement efforts are essential to helping maintain Quality Standards and support the Organization's success. Effective communication with cross-functional teams further enhances the role's impact in achieving excellence in Quality Control.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis of incoming raw material to ensure it meets the necessary specifications
  • Complete First Shot approvals of internally molded components
  • Develop, maintain, and conduct regular review of Standard Process Instructions
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineers to review open deviations, and help drive each deviation to closure in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with MQE to document Test Run Evaluations for new and existing products
  • Assist with completion of TREs, as needed
  • Ensure dimensional measurements of incoming & internally molded parts align with Engineering drawings and specifications (when needed as backup for QCT)
  • Assist Quality Engineers with any necessary containment activities
  • Assist with maintenance of USC-Texas Calibration Program
  • Assist with developing, maintaining, and conducting Training Programs for Quality Technicians and Inspectors
  • Provide technical support for Quality Control Technicians

Equipment Used

  • MicroVu vision system
  • Stereoscopes and cameras
  • Contact gaging equipment, including, but not limited to, pin gages, caliper, and micrometer
  • Spectrophotometer
  • Computer (Windows applications)

Must Haves

  • Technical associate degree preferred, or minimum 2 years of experience in a Quality role
  • Experience as a US Conec Quality Control Technician is required
  • Knowledge of optical fiber, cable, connectors and hardware products a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate ability to plan tests and analyze and interpret results
  • Basic knowledge of standard MS Office applications
