French Manager information

What is a French manager?

French Managers are professionals who oversee teams, departments, or organizations in a French-speaking context or within companies based in France. Their role involves managing staff, coordinating operations, ensuring organizational goals are met, and often bridging cross-cultural communication. French Managers are typically expected to be fluent in French, understand local business practices, and be familiar with French labor laws. They may work in various industries and are responsible for motivating employees, handling administrative tasks, and implementing company strategies.

How does a French manager typically collaborate with international teams, and what challenges might arise in this context?

A French Manager often works with colleagues and clients from various countries, requiring effective cross-cultural communication and adaptability. Challenges may include navigating language barriers, differing work styles, and varying business etiquette. Successful French Managers leverage their strong interpersonal skills and cultural awareness to foster collaboration, ensure clarity in expectations, and maintain productive relationships across borders. Proactively seeking feedback and being open to different perspectives are key to overcoming these challenges.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a French manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a French Manager, you need expertise in leadership, business operations, and fluency in both French and English, often supported by a relevant degree and managerial experience. Familiarity with French labor laws, HR management systems, and productivity tools like Microsoft Office or SAP is typically required. Strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and effective communication help build trust and motivate diverse teams. These competencies are crucial for ensuring compliance, fostering collaboration, and driving organizational success in a French business environment.

Job description

Why voize? Because we're more than just a job!

At voize, we believe the greatest gift to frontline workers is time - time to care, connect, and be present. Today, that time is lost to busywork and complex systems that pull them away from what matters most: people.

Our vision is to change that by building AI companions that seamlessly take over digital workflows. We don't replace humans with technology - we amplify their impact.

Our mission is backed with a $50M Series A funding led by Balderton Capital, with support from HV Capital, Y Combinator and other leading VCs. Today, 2,000+ facilities trust voize, and over 200,000 users rely on our AI companion to ease their daily workload.

As a dynamic team, we combine first-in-class technology with meaningful social impact. And now, we're looking for you to join us on this mission!

Your Mission: Be the technical backbone of our French launch

France is our next big market - and as our Founding Technical Account Manager (France), you are the first dedicated customer-facing technical hire for it. You become the single clear technical owner for our first French customers across their entire lifecycle: implementation, technical setup, rollout support, ongoing troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

This is a true founding role. You'll operate as a one-person Swiss army knife across Technical Support and Solution Engineering - solving hands-on today, and building the playbooks, documentation, and processes that a whole French technical team will run on tomorrow. Your work makes voize's first French customers wildly successful - and referenceable.

Your Daily Business - No two days are alike
  • Own technical planning and setup end-to-end for new French customers and rollouts - from the first technical scoping call through go-live and steady-state usage

  • Own inbound customer and technical support for the French market: every French support request has a clear owner - you triage, troubleshoot, resolve, or escalates within agreed response expectations

  • Diagnose ambiguous issues hands-on across our app, backend, customer-side IT (networks, devices, MDM), and system integrations - and keep customers clearly informed along the way, in French

  • Build the French playbook from scratch: setup and support documentation, escalation paths, response standards, and recurring-issue tracking that future hires in the market will ramp on

  • Be the technical voice of the French customer: categorize escalations and recurring blockers and feed them back into Product, Support, and Solution Engineering

  • Work hand in hand with our EU teams: clear escalation paths into Support, Solution Engineering, and Product - with the goal that standard French requests no longer depend on ad hoc help from the existing team

  • Turn learnings into leverage: identify the most common technical blockers in the French market - from facility IT patterns to local care software ecosystems - and translate them into better processes, documentation, and product feedback

Your Skillset - What you bring to the table
  • Several years of experience in technical support, solutions engineering, technical account management, or implementation - ideally in B2B SaaS, health-tech, or another operationally complex environment

  • Hands-on technical troubleshooting skills: you're comfortable working with logs, APIs, integrations, networking fundamentals, and device/MDM setups - and you can isolate a fault across systems that don't belong to you

  • Founding-role autonomy: you thrive with high ownership and low structure - you build processes and documentation where none exist yet, without waiting to be asked

  • Excellent communication across audiences: you can walk a non-technical facility administrator through a fix with patience and warmth, then hand engineering a precise, reproducible bug report

  • Structured under pressure: you manage many customers and open cases without losing overview - and you use data and dashboards to spot patterns, track recurring issues, and prove things are improving

  • Full professional proficiency in French (spoken & written) - you'll work with French facilities and their IT partners every day - plus a very good command of English for internal collaboration. German is a plus.

Nice to have (but not required)

  • Experience in healthcare, senior care, or another regulated industry - knowledge of the French care sector and its software ecosystem is a big plus

Growing together - what you can expect at voize
  • We are a fast-growing startup, that means you will tackle challenges, grow quickly, and make a real impact, giving frontline workers more time for people

  • We foster an open, collaborative culture with regular team events, whether you work from our Berlin office or remotely across Germany

  • Become a co-creator of our success with stock options

  • Generous perks: 30 vacation days plus your birthday off, Germany Transport Ticket, Urban Sports Club, regular company off-sites, and access to learning platforms such as Blinkist and Audible, plus free language courses

  • You decide when you work best, that means flexible working hours and a good hybrid set-up.
