Job description

French's Meat Shop has been in business since the mid-60's, we expanded our wholesale operation in the late-70's, mainly supplying restaurants and bars & grills throughout the valley. We are looking for motivated and reliable individuals to join our sales team and support our expanding business.

This is an outside sales position responsible for promoting the company's products and services. We are looking for results-driven sales representatives with excellent communication skills to actively seek out leads, prospective new customers, and secure business with restaurants, bars & grills, caterers, and other food related businesses. You will be responsible for building long-term relationships with new customers and some existing customers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Builds relationships with customers through effective communication and understanding of customers needs
  • Generate leads and conduct cold calls to potential customers
  • Follows up on leads and customer accounts that have not been seen or heard from in a period of time.
  • Maintains current knowledge of product information and pricing
  • Provides accurate and complete information about customers, products, and pricing.
  • Takes initiative to solve problems, works well independently, and collaborates with other departments.
  • Provides prompt and thorough responses to customers regarding products, pricing, and other related inquiries.
  • Provide customers with samples
  • Preparing and submitting sales orders
  • Troubleshoot any problems that may occur during the order process thru the delivery process
  • communicate and collect accounts receivables as necessary

Job Skills:

  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision.
  • Must have working knowledge of MS Office, with a focus on Excel
  • Customer service driven
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Occasionally lift 40 + pounds

  • Previous meat sales experience preferred

Our CEO bought French's in 1977 as a retail business, by the '80's he expanded to selling wholesale and we haven't looked back. Today, 85% + of our business is wholesale. We sell mostly to bars and grills, steakhouses, diners and cafes.
