STAR7 started its activity as a Language Service Provider more than 20 years ago and it is still expanding worldwide.
Our array of clients ranges from a wide variety of fields from technical to marketing.
We are currently recruiting Freelance Simultaneous Interpreters with English > French for an on-site assignment in Dearborn, Michigan, supporting a customer experience event for a global automotive client.
Subject Matter: Technical automotive discussion
According to the client, the event will include 6 different discussion stations, each with 10 dealership representatives. Small groups of executives will rotate between stations to discuss pre-defined topics in an informal and conversational setting. Interpreters will support communication during these exchanges.
The assignment may also lead to future opportunities with additional virtual and/or on-site interpretation projects.
Key Responsibilities - in this role you will:
  • Provide accurate and professional simultaneous interpretation from English into French.
  • Facilitate smooth communication between executives and dealership representatives during customer experience discussions.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism throughout the assignment.
  • Adapt quickly to changing conversational dynamics and multiple speakers.
  • Ensure clear and culturally appropriate communication in both languages.
  • Coordinate effectively with the STAR7 project management team and other interpreters on-site.

Requirements
  • Native or near-native proficiency in English and French.
  • Proven experience in simultaneous interpretation, preferably in corporate or business environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage informal, fast-paced group conversations professionally.
  • Excellent listening, memory retention, and note-taking skills.
  • Professional demeanor and reliability.
  • Previous experience in automotive, customer experience, or corporate events is a plus.
