Introduction

Overview

Responsible for daily execution and tracking of freight across the Ahold Delhaize America businesses. Work collectively across all Ahold Delhaize USA banners and Shared Services to ensure that managed freight flows optimally throughout the Supply Chain.

Flexible Work Schedule

Our flexible/ hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days.

Eligibility

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze all Customer Pickup loads delivering into assigned region/s for optimization opportunities and tender to carrier.
  • Check PO notifications from CRP vendors daily to verify correct receipt of all orders, weights, dates & pickup locations
  • Communicates with vendors and Inventory Analysts on any PO#'s that did not transmit or transmitted incorrectly
  • Combine multiple PO#'s, adjust weights on PO's, adjust pick up days based on information provided by the vendor and/or as identified by self for DA gain ie: bracket pricing, efficiency programs, freight expense reduction.
  • Work closely with vendors and Inventory Analysts on any orders that need date changes
  • Expedite any PO#'s the buyer/vendor may need earlier than requested date-sometimes needing same day pickup
  • Identify and assist Supply Chain Analytics with possible Customer Pickup opportunities
  • Responsible for recruiting new carriers to Customer Pickup program
  • Coordinate all freight claim research, filing and resolution for Customer Pickup loads
  • Coordinate all drop trailer contracts for all DC's
  • Work closely with vendor's shipping department to ensure timely loading of trucks for loads to reduce amount of detention
  • Work closely with carriers to improve on-time delivery performance
  • Send detailed report daily on Customer Pickup late loads to all buyers, Logistics & all DC's
  • Assist DC's when they are missing bills for loads
  • Assist DC's with notifying carriers when envelopes are needed to mail bill of ladings to the carrier
  • Research past due and balance due invoices from carriers
  • Take calls from prepaid carriers needing delivery appointments.
  • Assist Truck Appointments when needed to schedule prepaid loads
  • Fax POD requests to vendors and carriers.
  • Maintain fuel surcharge scales for various vendors weekly and monthly.
  • Train carriers to use current TMS system
  • Continuously search for the most efficient freight rate
  • Work closely with Team Leaders helping to identify opportunities for optimization
  • Perform analysis on various lanes (CPU, allowance vs expense, Alternative Product Flow, etc.)
  • Liaison for communication flow with Distribution, Transportation, Category Management and Replenishment
  • Execute transfers and rush deliveries at the request of Replenishment/Category
  • Assist in disaster recovery efforts due to natural disaster or weather events
  • Other projects and analyses to be performed as identified and assigned by Team Leader
  • Provide support for motivating peers and function as an effective promoter of change and growth.
  • Provide support for the implementation of a continuous improvement culture
  • Serve as a member of key teams and committees as needed
  • Responsible for the development, talent planning and performance management of self
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience
  • Collaboration experience with vendors, transportation providers, & third party consultants
  • Experience with the following computer programs: SEGA, DSS, LlamaSoft, WMS, PFT, Inforem, Tableau, Revionics, MSP
  • Requires travel - typically 8 - 12%
