Job description

 Essential Job Functions

  • Updates and maintains the Global Pricing Database and the Global Marketing database
  • Facilitates the completion of Global Ocean RFQ’s
  • Supports all Global Sales Team members with pricing inquiries
  • Provides marketing and proposal support for all Global Sales Team members
  • Involved in quarterly business reviews where warranted for the development of new solution and or pricing
  • Manages data for clients including generating and maintaining customized data sets for business reviews with clients and carriers
  • Prepares customized solutions for new clients or expansion of services offered to existing clients as it related to pricings and products and support of sales
  • Helps facilitate carrier quarterly business reviews
  • Monthly / Quarterly carrier trend reporting and as assigned by manager
  • Other duties as assigned

    Other Skills & Abilities

    • Must have very strong computer skills associated with the utilization of Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Project
    • Other software skills as needed such as Visio, Access, Outlook etc.

    Physical Requirements

    • Talking, hearing and using hands to operate computer equipment
    • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus 
    • Job may require extended sitting or standing, use of standard office equipment.

    Education & Experience

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
    • 1-3 years of RFQ Management required.
    • 1-3 years of Pricing Database Management required.
    • Minimum 3 years of Ocean Freight Pricing or Ocean Freight Forwarding experience required.
    • Experience pricing and coordinating ocean transportation for oversized and out-of-gauge (OOG) equipment required.
    • Experience handling Flat Rack, Open Top, Breakbulk, and Roll-on/Roll-off (Ro-Ro) shipments required.
    • Knowledge of ocean carrier pricing, service contracts, tariffs, and trade lane management required.
    • Experience supporting project cargo, heavy-lift, industrial, construction, oil & gas, or energy-related shipments preferred.
    • 1-3 years’ experience working in freight forwarding operating systems and transportation management systems preferred.
    • 1-3 years statistical analysis experience.
