Job description:

In this role you will be responsible for handling freight forwarding functions related to international and domestic shipments. With a goal to keep shipments moving smoothly, working directly with our clients and overseas agents as well as carriers and custom brokers.

You will play a key role in developing and implementing plans to improve operational efficiencies, ensure long term client support and to identify opportunities for the growth and expansion of our international forwarding services in the U.S.A. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail oriented and enjoy taking initiative in a fast-paced environment.


Operational Responsibilities:

Focus will be on handling import and export cargo (you will also be involved in handling domestic truck freight) with the goal of superior customer service for our clients

Interact, communicate, coordinate and negotiate with overseas agents, carriers, vendors and other third parties effectively and confidently

Respond to client and internal inquires timely and follow up to ensure issue resolution and client satisfaction as well as sourcing reliable and cost-effective shipping options

Prepare freight quotations as well client freight Invoices, with a focus on accuracy

Trace cargo and provide arrival and delivery information to clients


Knowledge and Skills:

Graduate of a logistics and/or international freight program at the college/university level preferable

Experience in import/export, freight forwarding or logistics is preferred

Clear understanding of International & Domestic freight forwarding coupled with experience dealing with customs brokers and documentation requirements

Self motivated, highly analytical, creative, with innovative approach to solving problems

Strong interpersonal/communication skills to effectively interact with colleges and clients

Extremely organized, meticulous and detailed oriented

Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Ability to handle large volumes of work accurately

Ability to work independently

Ability to prioritize work & time management skills as well as multitask


Hours: Monday to Friday: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
