Job description

Border Bound is a rapidly growing third-party logistics (3PL) provider specializing in freight brokerage, transportation, and warehousing solutions across the United States and Canada. Our mission is to provide exceptional service while building lasting partnerships with customers and carriers.


We are seeking an experienced Freight Dispatcher / Carrier Sales Representative to join our operations team. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced brokerage environment, excels at building carrier relationships, and is committed to delivering outstanding customer service.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and dispatch truckload shipments throughout the United States.
  • Source qualified carriers using load boards, carrier networks, and existing relationships.
  • Negotiate rates while maximizing shipment profitability.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and transportation partners.
  • Track shipments from pickup through delivery and proactively communicate updates.
  • Resolve service issues, delays, and exceptions quickly and professionally.
  • Verify carrier authority, insurance, safety ratings, and compliance before dispatching freight.
  • Maintain accurate shipment information within the Transportation Management System (TMS).
  • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure customer expectations are exceeded.
  • Monitor on-time pickup and delivery performance.
  • Ensure all shipments are handled safely, efficiently, and profitably.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in freight brokerage, carrier sales, or logistics dispatch.
  • Strong knowledge of the U.S. truckload market.
  • Experience with DAT, Truckstop, Carrier411, RMIS, Highway, or similar industry tools.
  • Experience using a Transportation Management System (TMS).
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong multitasking and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple shipments simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation software.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing carrier relationships.
  • Experience with dry van, refrigerated, flatbed, and expedited freight.
  • Understanding of FMCSA regulations and DOT compliance.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
