Job description

Job Overview

Legacy Supply Chain is hiring a Freight Brokerage Account Manager for our growing Freight Brokerage Division located in Dublin, OH. As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for retaining and developing existing business by leveraging strong relationships with assigned accounts. You will be responsible for understanding the customer's business, P&L management, solutions development, and supply chain strategies; ensuring that all operational requirements are proactively identified and addressed with the appropriate company resources. You will also be expected to support new sales developments through pricing, adding expertise, and seamless onboarding of new clients. managing, identifying, and pursuing new freight sales opportunities for our domestic brokerage team. This position includes a competitive salary and bonus plan with a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) plan with up to 5% company match.

  • Monday through Friday - 8:00am to 5:00pm

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the point of contact for all account management matters.
  • Leverage relationships and opportunities with customers to increase revenue and profitability for Legacy.
  • Lead business reviews with customers and drive all action plans needed to improve results.
  • Ability to proactively communicate issues both internally and externally to maintain positive results for assigned accounts.
  • Negotiate rates with customers, sales, internal operations, and external providers to maintain profitability expectations.
  • Rate Quoting to assigned customers and potential new customers.
  • Understanding customer needs and in turn creating solutions development to drive growth with identified targets.
  • Meet with customers to ensure customer satisfaction and budgeted/targeted revenue & profitability is being met.
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts, customer stakeholders, and executive sponsors.
  • Clearly communicated the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Forecast and track key account metrics  
  • P&L management of assigned customer
  • Directly responsible for maintaining monthly performance of customers and profitability.
  • Actively seek out new or recurring opportunities to grow the relationship.
  • New Customer onboarding
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert on all potential new opportunities
  • Provide detailed reporting for all open orders and monitoring of customer supply line.
  • Oversight management of customers' shipments. Ensure proper Coordination with agents and logistics teams to meet customer expectations.
  • Proactive reporting of customer volumes, revenue, jobs, margin, and forecast to executive team and identify potential variations vs budget.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, markets, and forecast to avoid potential customer downturns or impacts.
  • Build new relationships, maintain, and grow existing relationships with clients
  • Develop optimal routing and pricing solutions to clients' transportation needs
  • Be the first point of contact for the clients and ensure their service expectations are met
  • Manage the day-to-day clients' freight movements in collaboration with Operations
  • Actively participate in sales meetings and reporting on sales goals, forecasting, and wins
  • Stay informed on industry news and market trends

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in business, logistics, international trade, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 4 years' experience in freight forwarding, domestic transportation, customs brokerage, and international supply chains is highly desirable.
  • At least 2 years with proven experience in driving growth in account management setting
  • A self-starter, ablet to problem solve problems without a lot of direction.
  • Ability to Multitask and be able to work with different lines of business to achieve growth.
  • Strong knowledge of the market and trends in a domestic or international logistics setting
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • World class relationship building & sales mentality

  • Financial Acumen
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal, is essential.
