Job description

JOB FUNCTION:

As a Warehouse Order Picker, you will play a pivotal role in the timely and accurate fulfillment of retail store orders. Your expertise in locating, selecting, and preparing products for shipment is essential in helping us maintain an efficient warehouse operation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate motorized pallet jack and powered industrial trucks safely and efficiently in the process of order fulfillment
  • Pick cases (up to 50 pounds) from warehouse locations as indicated on an order sheet or from a headset; arrange items on a pallet and stage the pallet for loading or place items on a conveyor belt
  • Maintain a level of work productivity as established by warehouse management
  • Keep work area clear of debris, spills, or unsanitary conditions to promote a safe environment
  • Other duties as assigned

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be willing to work evening shifts; 4:00 pm to 1:00 am, 4:30 pm to 1:30 am, and 6:30 pm to 3:30 am
  • Must be at least 18 years old or older
  • Ability to read and interpret order sheet
  • Able to hear an order from a headset
  • Ability to speak and read English
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple priorities
  • Basic math skills are required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to climb stairs, bend, kneel, twist, reach, and pull frequently
  • Must be able to lift items more than 50 lbs. occasionally, 25 lbs. frequently, and 10 - 20 lbs. continuously

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Exposure to varying temperatures depending on building:
    • Some jobs occur in room temperature rooms, 60F - 85F
    • Some jobs occur in refrigerated rooms, 28F - 45F
    • Some jobs occur in freezer rooms, -20F - 0F
  • Campus warehouses have a noisy and busy environment; employees must always remain alert

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Work from 18 hours to 28 hours per week
  • Earn hour of Paid Absence time for each week working at least 20 hours
  • Wage reviews every 3 to 6 months depending on performance; earn $21.75 per hour in as little as 9 months
  • Wage starting at $20.00/hr top wage at $21.75
  • Pre-Employment work screen and background check required
