Freezer Clerk

Custom Seafoods Processors, Inc. has been processing sport-caught fish and wild game on the Kenai Peninsula for 30 years. Within our 12,000 square foot facility, we can handle the influx of sport-caught fish as well as process a variety of fish species to serve the wholesale market simultaneously. We are looking for driven, highly motivated individuals to join our team and help us continue to be the preferred seafood processor on the peninsula.

Job Summary:

Custom Seafoods currently has open positions for a Freezer Clerk. The Freezer Clerk will be responsible for unpacking, organizing, and maintaining products, as well as pulling customer orders within 3 freezers throughout the facility. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills are required. Working in freezing climates will be required when completing freezer work, though breaks will be given when needed. This is a physically demanding position; you will be expected to lift and move baskets/totes weighing up to 80 lbs regularly. The main task of the freezer clerk is to retrieve products, unpack and move fish into baskets, and organize and rotate as needed. You will also be expected to work closely with the Boxing Department to pull products and organize as needed.

Starting Pay: $15.00 - $17.00, depending on experience.
This position does not provide relocation or housing!

Duties amp; Responsibilities:

  • Regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and move 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 80 pounds.
  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Assist other departments as needed.
  • Work directly with Boxing Crew to make the freezer as efficient as possible.
  • Regularly work in freezing temperatures.
  • Able to work a variety of hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime to ensure tasks are completed timely.

Required Skills amp; Abilities:

  • Basic math and handwriting skills
  • Regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and move 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 80 pounds.
  • Ability to work while standing for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Education amp; Experience:

  • Previous warehouse experience is a plus.
  • On-the-job training. We welcome employees with no prior experience or training.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 60 pounds regularly.
  • Flexibility Required. Available to work a variety of hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, long shifts, overtime, and late-night shifts.
  • Must be able to work in sub-zero environments for extended periods (thermal gear provided).
