The Opportunity
This role is structured as a 1099 independent contractor engagement and offers flexible remote work. We're seeking a Contract Talent Acquisition Specialist to lead full life cycle recruiting across technical, engineering, and select non-technical roles. You'll partner directly with hiring managers, build strategic sourcing pipelines, and shape exceptional candidate experiences that reflect Thermo's culture and long-term growth goals.
This role is for a recruiter who is proactive, organized, and excited to support a fast-moving and high-volume engineering organization. You'll leverage modern sourcing tools (Boolean search, social platforms, data mining, and networking) to attract top talent in a competitive market while strengthening Thermo's employment brand.
What You'll Do
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements, skill needs, and team dynamics.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for technical and engineering positions.
    Source through LinkedIn, social media, referrals, university channels, and custom talent pipelines.
  • Screen and evaluate candidates for technical qualifications, experience, and culture alignment.
  • Coordinate interview scheduling, facilitate feedback, and ensure timely communication.
  • Provide compensation insights based on market data and internal equity.
    Manage the candidate lifecycle within the ATS to ensure accurate, real-time tracking.
  • Conduct reference checks, verify credentials, and maintain compliance with hiring practices.
  • Track key recruiting metrics and share insights to improve hiring processes.

What You Bring
Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 1+ years of recruiting experience in construction recruiting professional services, engineering environments, manufacturing, or agency settings. Prior experience working in freelance or as an independent contractor is beneficial.
Technical & Functional Skills:
  • Proficiency with ATS platforms, LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, and sourcing tools.
  • Strong interviewing and assessment capabilities.

Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple requisitions simultaneously.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and committed to a positive candidate and hiring manager experience.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license, be eligible to work in the U.S., and remain fit for duty.
