MEPPI’s Critical Power Solutions Division (CPSD) is seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Management Section Manager to lead project management activities across bids, orders, deliveries, customer communications, and field service support. In this leadership role, you will oversee project execution from initial inquiry through customer turnover, ensuring customer commitments are met while maintaining quality, schedule, and financial performance.


What You’ll Do

Lead Project Management Operations: Direct and oversee project management personnel responsible for contract negotiation, project scope, scheduling, invoicing, budgeting, margin performance, and overall project quality from inquiry through customer turnover.
Develop & Manage Teams: Lead project management staff in accordance with Company policies; provide training, cross-training, and development opportunities; conduct performance reviews and provide input for compensation decisions.
Drive Project Planning & Execution: Oversee development of detailed project plans including goals, strategies, resource allocation, schedules, risk identification, contingency planning, and cost control.
Monitor Project Performance: Track overall project progress and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all departments remain aligned and customer commitments are achieved.
Support Commercial Negotiations: Assist and guide Project Managers and Project Applications Engineers in negotiating pricing, delivery terms, and other contract conditions for major project components.
Oversee Warranty & Service Activities: Manage insurance, warranty claims, and service issues from product delivery through project completion and turnover.
Ensure Effective Communication: Review and guide the preparation of project status reports; ensure management, customers, and stakeholders are kept informed of progress and any issues.
Resolve Project Issues: Confer with project teams to provide direction, resolve challenges, and support decision-making.
Manage Site Support Resources: Ensure appropriate site management coverage through internal resources and third-party providers.
Manage Budget & Financial Performance: Prepare and manage operating budgets with attention to cost control and financial clearances.
Promote Division Excellence: Further CPSD’s goals and professional image through effective collaboration with internal departments, vendors, customers, and MELCO partners.


What You Bring

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management
  • Minimum of 3 years of management experience
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Technical & Leadership Expertise:

  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle management, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management
  • Experience supporting large, complex customer projects in technical or industrial environments

Skills & Attributes:

  • Advanced verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments, including familiarity with Japanese business culture

Technology Proficiency:

  • Advanced computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Microsoft Project and related project management tools
