What is a freelance teen web designer?

A freelance teen web designer is a young individual, typically between the ages of 13 and 19, who creates websites for clients on a project-by-project basis rather than as an employee. They often work independently, managing their own clients, schedules, and payments. Teen web designers may offer services such as website layout design, coding, and maintenance using tools like HTML, CSS, and website builders. Freelancing allows teens to gain experience, build a portfolio, and earn income while still in school. To be successful, they need both technical skills and good communication abilities.

To thrive as a Freelance Teen Web Designer, you need a solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, along with a portfolio of completed web projects. Familiarity with design tools like Adobe XD or Figma, as well as website builders such as WordPress or Wix, is often expected. Creativity, good time management, and strong client communication skills help you stand out in this role. These abilities are essential for delivering effective, visually appealing websites that meet client needs and deadlines in a competitive freelance market.

  • Collaborate with PaceMate's marketing team and website technology development partner to ensure developers are properly applying new design to build components
  • Deliver presentation-ready design files for stakeholder review and approval
  • Provide design direction that the web development team can execute cleanly
Key Deliverables:
Final deliverables to include:
  • Approved homepage design concept
  • Approved interior page design concepts
  • Website design system / component library
  • Design direction for typography, spacing, imagery, iconography, and UI components
  • Responsive design guidance for desktop and mobile
  • Annotated design files or visual notes for developers
  • Exported PDF designs for leadership review and approval
  • Source files in Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Final design assets and components ready for handoff to the development team
What We're Looking For:

You should be able to bring:
  • Excellent design taste as demonstrated by portfolio examples
  • Strong digital design instincts
  • Healthcare or SaaS fluency
  • Clear rationale for your design decisions
  • The ability to balance design polish with business goals
  • Speed and flexibility in a high-priority project
Required Experience
  • 7+ years of professional digital design or web design experience

  • Comfort working quickly and independently in a fast-moving project environment
Strongly Preferred
  • Experience designing for healthcare or life sciences companies
  • Experience with enterprise SaaS website redesigns
