Job description

The Risk Control Consultant II serves as a business consultant, helping policyholders improve workplace safety, reduce losses, and strengthen risk management practices. The consultant partners with insureds across a variety of industries, provides technical guidance, and shares industry expertise with underwriting and senior management to support informed business decisions. Maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust's mission, vision, and values and upholds the standards of the organization.

The ideal candidate will be located within reasonable distance to Dallas, TX or Chicago, IL. 


  • Provide risk control consultation and evaluation services to support the selection and retention of new and renewal commercial multi-line business.
  • Prepare reports, analyze data, and identify injury and loss trends to assist underwriting and insured management in making informed business decisions.
  • Provide ongoing technical support to policyholders, producers, and other customers regarding safety, health, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Assist segment partners in meeting objectives outlined in local and regional operating plans.
  • Remain current on industry trends, emerging exposures, and market demands.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • 3+ years of insurance industry experience in Workers’ Compensation and/or other commercial lines of business, including knowledge of associated exposures, controls, and loss prevention strategies.
  • Extremely organized self-starter with strong technical, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Risk control experience preferred, particularly in Workers’ Compensation, property, liability, and fleet operations.
  • Excellent organization, planning, project management, and time management skills.
  • Ability to influence and motivate internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Professional designations such as CIH, CSP, ARM, or other applicable designation preferred.
