Job Title: Field Test & Commissioning Engineer – Signaling
Location:
 Atlanta, GA (On-site)
Shift: Night Shift (Sunday night to Friday morning)

Job Summary
 

We are seeking an experienced Field Test & Commissioning Engineer to support railway signaling test and commissioning activities in Atlanta, GA. The role involves on-site testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and coordination with commissioning and engineering teams, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and project standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Execute field test and commissioning activities under the guidance of the Project Commissioning Manager.
  • Perform deep troubleshooting of systems and equipment to identify root causes of failures.
  • Define containment actions and support sustainable solutions in coordination with product engineers.
  • Execute and supervise signaling test activities for the ATL WTB project.
  • Support testing of:
    • Signaling systems and switches
    • External interfaces
    • CF550 & CF650 activities
    • Refurbished switches installation and acceptance testing
    • Onboard communication systems (CCTV, PA/PI)
  • Create, modify, and execute test procedures and test instructions.
  • Prepare and maintain test documentation, including:
    • Test records
    • Test data sheets
    • Test reports
    • Discrepancy and NCR reports
    • Daily and weekly progress reports (KPIs)
  • Update test KPIs and track documentation lifecycle in PDM systems.
  • Guide and support Electrical Installers (EI) during execution.
  • Participate in test planning meetings and coordination calls.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety, fail-safe principles, system reliability, and integrity.
  • Comply with EHS, airport regulations, and site safety requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Engineering degree (Electrical, Electronics, Signaling, or related discipline).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Test Engineer in the railway sector.
  • Strong knowledge of railway systems, including:
    • Signaling principles
    • Troubleshooting techniques
    • Software installation and log retrieval
  • Experience in:
    • Creating test procedures
    • Executing field tests
    • Compiling test results and reports
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Signaling and communications systems (CBTC preferred)
    • Telecommunications, server configuration, networks, and RF
    • Guideway switches installation and acceptance testing
  • Familiarity with NCR management and quality documentation.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
