Location: Remote, based in Illinois. This role supports an assigned Illinois territory and requires regular travel throughout the region.
Travel: Regular, same-day travel within the assigned region is required, with most travel being less than two hours from your home base. Occasional overnight travel may be required for company meetings or other business needs a few times per year.
The Opportunity
The Partner Engagement Advisor at Teaching Channel, a division of K12 Coalition, is responsible for growing customer and partner relationships within an assigned territory. This role connects with educators, schools, districts, and education organizations to identify professional development and continuing education needs and connect customers with Teaching Channel products and services.
Through school visits, phone and email outreach, conferences, Lunch & Learns, and other engagement opportunities, the Partner Engagement Advisor develops new relationships, nurtures existing customers, and generates individual, group, and district sales. The Advisor is expected to understand their territory, proactively identify new opportunities, and translate consistent outreach and relationship-building into measurable business results.
This is an individual contributor, field-based sales role accountable for achieving established sales and partnership goals and requires frequent travel throughout the assigned territory.
What You'll Do
Develop and grow your assigned territory
  • Research and understand the assigned territory to identify prospective schools, districts, education organizations, and other partnership opportunities.
  • Conduct consistent prospecting and outreach through school visits, phone, email, conferences, events, and other engagement activities.
  • Build new relationships and maintain existing partner and customer relationships through consistent outreach and follow-up.
  • Translate outreach and field activity into measurable business opportunities, including individual, group, district, and Teaching Channel Plus sales.
  • Achieve established monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and business development goals.
  • Attend designated local, regional, and national conferences and events.

Engage educators and develop partnership opportunities
  • Organize and lead Lunch & Learn sessions and other recruitment events that engage educators and create opportunities for continued partnership and course adoption.
  • Build and maintain strong knowledge of Teaching Channel products and services to identify solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Educate prospective learners on course expectations and requirements, including district and state requirements related to educator re-licensure and salary advancement.
  • Engage prospective and lapsed customers to understand their professional development needs and provide personalized product recommendations.
  • Navigate customer questions and objections and move opportunities forward through appropriate follow-up.

Manage your pipeline and customer activity
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of customer interactions, prospects, opportunities, and follow-up activities within the CRM.
  • Manage opportunities through the sales cycle and maintain visibility into activity, progress, and next steps.
  • Complete order intake and other required sales processes accurately and efficiently.

Collaborate across the organization
  • Communicate regularly with internal partners regarding customer opportunities, challenges, and next steps.
  • Come prepared to customer and internal meetings and engage the appropriate partners to support opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to strengthen customer messaging, outreach, and collateral.
  • Support conference planning, training, and data collection/reporting for the Field Ambassador Team.
  • Support the team with additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to help meet evolving organizational goals and objectives.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in sales, business development, partnership development, account management, or a similar customer-facing role;
  • Experience working within K-12 education or directly supporting educators, schools, or districts preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently prospect, develop new relationships, and convert outreach into business opportunities.
  • Strong territory management and consultative selling skills, with the ability to identify customer needs, develop opportunities, overcome objections, and move prospects through the sales cycle.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills with the ability to confidently engage educators, school and district leaders, and other external partners.
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills with the ability to independently manage a high volume of customer activity, priorities, and next steps.
  • Experience using a CRM, preferably Salesforce, to manage customer activity, opportunities, and pipeline.
  • Results-oriented and comfortable working toward defined activity, partnership, and sales goals.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently throughout an assigned territory and attend local, regional, and national events as required.
