Job description

WESTMORELAND BUILDERS, LLC — NOW HIRING — PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Project Manager
Commercial Construction  •  Remote

Full-time    •    Remote    •    DFW preferred    •    Restaurant & retail focus    •    Exempt salary

We build the spaces where people shop, eat, and gather. Westmoreland Builders, LLC is an established and growing commercial general contractor specializing in ground-up construction, tenant buildouts, and remodel programs for developers and national restaurant and retail brands. We’re looking for a driven Project Manager who can carry multiple projects through every phase simultaneously, without letting schedules, budgets, quality, or client relationships slip.

About the Role
This is a documentation-and-delivery role at the center of everything. You’ll own the paper trail that keeps projects moving, schedules, RFIs, submittals, subcontracts, change orders, and close-out packages, while staying close enough to the field to catch issues before they become problems. You can be based anywhere, but someone local to the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex is preferred. Occasional travel to project sites is expected.

What You’ll Do
  • Serve as the primary coordinator of project documentation — schedules, progress reports, RFIs, submittals, memos, transmittals, purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders, and monitor each through to resolution.
  • Manage project budgets, develop cost scenarios, negotiate subcontractor and vendor pricing, and define scopes of work to keep each project on target financially.
  • Study contract documents in depth, plans, specifications, environmental reports, set up project files, and ensure accurate distribution to field offices, subcontractors, and vendors throughout all project phases.
  • Create and maintain tracking logs for submittals, transmittals, RFIs, shop drawings, close-out documents, and plan distribution. Confirm all materials comply with drawings and specifications.
  • Prepare, submit, and track all Requests for Information, keeping architects, engineers, and field teams in sync and moving forward.
  • Administer quality control throughout construction: confirm current documents are in use on site, monitor material deliveries against schedule, and coordinate with the superintendent on safety and site conditions.
  • Maintain complete communication records with architects, engineers, and all project stakeholders, including meeting minutes, correspondence files, and conversation notes.
  • Own the full project close-out process: O&M manuals, as-built plans, warranties, keys, extra materials, TAB reports, building permits, and certificates of occupancy.
  • Generate work plans, safety plans, and stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPPs) as required.
  • Document jobsite progress with regular photo documentation and written reports.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinating material and equipment deliveries, subcontractor mobilization, and company personnel logistics.
  • Assist with estimating and subcontractor bid solicitation as needed, quantity take-offs, quote review, and outreach to new trade partners.

What You Bring
  • Construction industry experience, you understand how commercial projects are built, documented, and delivered, and you know how to read plans, specs, and contracts with confidence.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across various stages — without losing track of schedules, budgets, or open items.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, you maintain clear, professional working relationships with subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and ownership.
  • A sense of urgency and decisive judgment — you identify problems early, analyze options quickly, and move to resolution without waiting to be asked.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project; familiarity with construction management software is a plus.
  • Flexibility and discipline, this is a remote role managing fast-moving projects, and you’ll need to stay organized, responsive, and self-directed without day-to-day supervision.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience in commercial construction.

Desired credentials (not required): PMP, CCM, QCIS, OSHA 30, and/or similar professional certifications are a bonus. We value candidates who invest in their craft, credentials help, but your project record speaks louder.
Good to know: This role is expected to coordinate up to $15M per year in subcontracts and purchase orders. If you’ve managed that kind of volume, or are ready to, we want to hear from you.

Physical Requirements
  • Occasional travel to project sites for progress reviews, client meetings, and short-duration site supervision.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions on an occasional basis.
  • Visual and auditory acuity required; standing, climbing, bending, and stooping on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to manage rapidly shifting priorities across multiple active projects.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Exempt salary — competitive DOE
  • Per diem for all out-of-town travel
  • Medical, dental, vision & life insurance
  • 401(k) with employer match

To apply, please submit your resume and a brief summary of your commercial construction project management experience, including the types of projects and contract volumes you’ve managed.
