About the Role:

The Freelance Associate Content Producer plays a key role in the creation, production, and distribution of compelling linear and digital content, with an emphasis on the video content. As part of SNY’s Content Department, you will work closely with producers, editors, and on-air talent to develop high-quality content that aligns with SNY’s brand and captivates audiences. This is an opportunity to thrive in a fast-paced, team-driven environment, and showcase your passion about delivering industry-leading coverage of the Mets, Jets, and all New York sports. This is a freelance position based at our downtown New York City, NY office. This role requires availability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays and non-traditional business hours and reports to the Coordinating Content Producers. 

 What You’ll Do:

  • Produce video elements including highlight packages, soundbites, features, and interviews
  • Conceptualize content, draft, and pitch content ideas that align with SNY’s brand objectives and audience interests
  • Utilize Cloud UX toassistvideo production and enhance sports multimedia storytelling
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with producers, editors, and on-air talent to produce high-quality content
  • Effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects,maintainingattention to detail while meeting deadlines for air
  • Navigate high-pressure, live production settings with composure and efficiency, ensuring seamless execution both in and out of the control room
  • Assistwith ad hoc assignments as needed

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Sports Management, Media, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a digital or sports newsroom environment
  • Experience with editing platforms, including Avid
  • Strong knowledge of New York sports, with an emphasis on baseball
  • Proficiencywith newsroom and production tools such as iNews, Cloud UX and Slack
  • Meticulous attention to detail tomaintainaccuracy and consistency in all content
  • Exhibits solid editorial judgement to ensure content aligns with quality standards and audience expectations.
  • Demonstrates a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, with strong leadership qualities and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively with excellent written and verbal communication skills, with interpersonal abilities
