What is a freelance priest in USA?

Freelance priests in the USA are ordained clergy who are not permanently attached to a specific parish or church. Instead, they offer their services independently for ceremonies such as weddings, funerals, baptisms, and other religious events. Freelance priests may work with people of various faith backgrounds or those seeking a personalized spiritual service outside traditional church settings. They often cater to individuals or families who desire a religious ceremony but may not be active members of a congregation.

How do freelance priests in the USA typically find opportunities to serve and what are the common challenges they face?

Freelance priests in the USA often find opportunities by networking within faith communities, partnering with local churches, or offering their services for weddings, funerals, and special events through online platforms. One of the main challenges is maintaining a steady flow of engagements while also ensuring compliance with denominational guidelines and licensure. Freelance priests need to be proactive in building relationships and managing their own schedules, as they typically do not have a fixed parish or support staff. This independence can offer flexibility but also requires strong organizational and communication skills to succeed.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a freelance priest in USA, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Freelance Priest in the USA, you typically need ordination from a recognized religious institution and a deep understanding of religious texts, traditions, and pastoral care. Familiarity with digital communication platforms, online scheduling tools, and legal requirements for officiating ceremonies is important. Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to connect with diverse congregants make a priest stand out in a freelance capacity. These skills ensure the priest can provide meaningful spiritual guidance, manage ceremonies professionally, and build lasting relationships within various communities.

Job description

REQ# 107

About Us
Premium Parts Wholesale (PPW) is a growing e-Commerce retailer specializing in automotive parts and accessories. We are expanding our operation to meet the accelerating growth demand. At PPW, our passion for automotive excellence shapes everything we do. Our focus on customer satisfaction inspires us to source only the best products, ensuring top-notch quality in every purchase.

Job Description
PPW is seeking a native French Canadian speaker to review and proofread translated marketing and product copy on an ongoing freelance basis.

This is a review and quality-control role, not a translation role. Copy will already be written in French Canadian. We need a native speaker with an excellent ear for language to ensure it is accurate, natural, clear and appropriate for a Canadian audience.

We're looking for someone we can rely on as our final native-language check before French Canadian copy goes live.

We work in a high-growth market that occasionally requires irregular work hours (due to time zones) and quick turnarounds, so flexibility is critical for success in this position.

What We're Looking For
  • Native French Canadian speaker
  • Translator experience is a plus, but not required
  • Excellent command of written French Canadian
  • Strong proofreading and editing skills
  • Ability to identify awkward, overly literal or unnatural translations
  • Strong attention to grammar, spelling, terminology and regional usage
  • Experience reviewing marketing, e-commerce or product copy preferred
  • Automotive knowledge is a plus, but not required
What You'll Review
Projects may include:
  • Amazon product listings and product descriptions
  • Automotive packaging copy
  • Website and e-commerce copy
  • Promotional and marketing materials
  • Product features, benefits and technical terminology
Job Type/Location
·        This is an ongoing freelance position paid on a monthly retainer (1099 Independent Contractor).
·        This is a remote, project-based role within the USA; however, candidates will need to be able to work with tight deadlines.
·        The number and length of projects will vary from month to month.
·        Must have unrestricted US work authorization.

When applying, please include:
  • A brief description of your proofreading/editing experience
  • Any relevant marketing, e-commerce or product-copy experience
Equal Opportunity Statement
Premium Parts Wholesale is an Equal Opportunity. PPW is committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees. Employment decisions are based upon job related reasons regardless of race, ethnicity, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, national origin, disability, gender identity, genetic information, veteran or disability status, or any other status protected by federal, state, or local law. U.S. Citizenship is required for positions.
