Senior Power Systems Analysis Engineer (Remote)

Job Description:
Orbital is seeking a Senior Power Systems Analysis Engineer to provide technical support and oversight for heavy industrial electrical projects across the US. This is a REMOTE WORK position open to candidates based in the United States. The position requires demonstrated engineering and design competency, preferably in a consulting environment, and with heavy industrial engineering projects.
Essential Functions
  • Review client requests for proposals and scopes of work. Act as Orbital representative at bid walkdowns. Prepare manhour estimates and proposals.
  • Lead electrical power systems analysis projects.
  • Perform site walks for data collection to support the analyses.
  • Perform load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and protective device coordination studies in SKM/ETAP.
  • Produce reports detailing findings from analyses.
  • Coordinate with project design/engineering teams to implement findings from analyses.
  • Act as QC resource by reviewing reports and analyses produced by other team members.
  • Support regional business development initiatives including capability discussions with existing and new clients.
  • Mentor junior engineers and staff

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Ten (10) years of prior professional experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification and ability to obtain certification in other states is preferred.
  • Exposure to the Metals, Midstream Oil & Gas, Refineries & Petrochemical and/or Utilities & Power Generation industries.
  • Proficiency in SKM and ETAP.
  • Experience leading project teams or engineering teams.

Location Note:
This is a remote position. Compensation is based on market data and internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's location.
Salary Range:
$99,000-185,000 annually (based on experience, qualifications, and location)
