Job description

Position Purpose:
The Associate UX Designer supports the planning and execution of user-centered digital experiences that help remove barriers between people and the life-changing message of the gospel. This role contributes to web and digital platforms serving a global audience seeking biblical truth, encouragement, and clarity. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to design thoughtful, accessible experiences and is well-suited for an early-career designer seeking meaningful work, steady professional growth, and a sustainable pace.
Essential Duties:
  • Design and develop user flows, wireframes, and prototypes for web-based digital experiences.
  • Improve usability and clarity across content-heavy pages and media platforms.
  • Apply user-centered design principles to support clear and effective communication of biblical teaching.
  • Collaborate with content, marketing, and development teams throughout the design process.
  • Participate in usability testing and incorporate findings into design iterations.
  • Adhere to established brand, content, and design standards while contributing ideas for improvement.
  • Support accessibility best practices to ensure experiences are usable by all audiences.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to effectively operate a Windows-based computer and navigate Microsoft Office Suite.
  • 1-2 years of experience in UX, web, or related design experience (including internships, contract, or freelance work).
  • A portfolio demonstrating a thoughtful design process and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma or comparable platforms.
  • Foundational understanding of usability principles, information architecture, and interaction design fundamentals.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and receive feedback.

Requirements:
  • Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Must sign the Statement of Faith.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent education is required.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in marketing, communication, or related field preferred.
  • A Charis Bible College student or graduate is preferred.
  • Must pass all required checks.

Experience:
  • Experience designing content-rich or media-focused websites.
  • Familiarity with accessibility guidelines such as WCAG.
  • Basic awareness of HTML, CSS, and responsive design concepts.
