Career Development Alumni Advisors are dynamic professionals dedicated to delivering unique career strategy and professional development advising services to Full Sail University alumni throughout their evolving career journey.
Alumni Advisors are segmented by industry expertise and will report to the Alumni Advising Team Leader. Alumni Advisors must have a genuine passion for people and an ability to work independently with shifting priorities. Alumni Advisors are self-motivated, adaptable, and have exceptional communication, organizational, and professional development skills.
***Positions are located on and worked from campus in Winter Park, Florida.***
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Behave as a Full Sail University ambassador and embrace our unique educational model, while maintaining the highest level of integrity, professionalism, customer service, and compliance.
  • Deliver unique career strategy and professional development advising services to Full Sail University alumni throughout their evolving career journey and based individually on identified unique graduate need. Counseling services include, but are not limited to:
    • Industry and career advancement research.
    • Job searching techniques and career networking growth.
    • Personal branding, including social media presence.
    • Unique and individualized resume and cover letter writing.
    • Industry-related project, demo reel, and portfolio critique.
    • Professional industry etiquette, personal presentation, and interviewing skills.
    • Skills gaps identification and available professional growth, development, and training opportunities.
  • Provide advising & counseling services to alumni through in-person, virtual, phone, and digital communication interactions.
  • Meet minimum daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly productivity expectations as directed by Alumni Advising Team Leader.
    • Identify and disseminate available, job lead, contract/freelance work, and career advancement opportunities within internal Full Sail University systems.
  • Actively promote and encourage alumni engagement with Full Sail University hiring events, career fairs, networking events, and digital community.
  • Document all alumni communication diligence within Full Sail University customer relationship management systems (CRMs).
  • Work with Career Development leadership team on alumni advising process alignment, streamlined workflow development, strategic outcome reporting, and training opportunities.
  • Participate in yearly ACCSC, DOE, and 3rd-party strategic employment reporting strategic initiatives as needed.
  • Facilitate Career Development in-person and virtual activations as needed.
  • Attend industry conferences and campus activations as needed.
  • Assist in additional initiatives on behalf of Full Sail University as needed.

Other Responsibilities:
  • Stay updated on pertinent information related to Full Sail University, the entertainment media & emerging technologies industries, post-secondary education, and ACCSC, DOE, and 3rd-party standards.
  • Provide detailed explanations of Full Sail University's educational programs, expected outcomes, and services provided to students/graduates, members of the education community, local community, entertainment media & emerging technology industries, and internal/external clients.
  • Support additional initiatives on behalf of Full Sail University as needed.
  • Apply best practices across all initiatives to ensure a consistent brand experience.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling, including availability for late nights, weekends, extended hours, and overnight travel as needed, particularly during peak seasons.
  • Complete expense reports in a timely fashion as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred with experience in entertainment media and/or emerging technology industries.
  • Preferred experience in Animation, Art, Graphic Design, Media Design
  • Customer service and guest relations experience.
  • Career counseling experience preferred, but not required.
  • Face-to-face and digital communication experience.
  • Must successfully participate in and complete all continuing education/training requirements.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Background check mandatory.

Computer Skills:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, various web tools, Salesforce CRM software, Simplicity CRM software, social media tools, and various other software as needed.
  • Proficient with various Apple and Windows based hardware.

Environmental Factors/Physical Demands:
Work is performed in an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have the ability to maintain active customer and employee communication; access, input and retrieve information from the computer system; enter alpha-numeric data into a computerized system often while listening on the telephone. May be subject to bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping and lifting up to thirty (30) pounds.
