Job description

Our client, a luxury event space in Midtown Manhattan, is seeking an Overnight Operations Manager for a 3-month temporary assignment. This role oversees Banquet House Attendants and Public Area Attendants responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness of all front-of-house guest areas and designated back-of-house spaces. The Overnight Operations Manager will coordinate and direct overnight work assignments to ensure all event spaces are prepared to the highest standards for upcoming events. This position is also responsible for maintaining organized and fully inventoried storage areas, monitoring departmental assets, overseeing linen and equipment inventory, and supporting operational efficiency across overnight event operations.
  • Compensation: $37/hr
  • Schedule: 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM
  • Duration: Approximately 3 Months (Temporary Assignment)

Responsibilities:
Event Operations:
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee the setup and breakdown of tables, chairs, buffets, bars, and event-related equipment
  • Ensure all event spaces are prepared accurately, efficiently, and on schedule
  • Serve as the overnight point of contact for clients, planners, vendors, and VIP guests
  • Communicate event readiness updates and operational needs to banquets and catering teams
  • Anticipate and resolve guest service issues to maintain a luxury guest experience
  • Assist clients with personal items, event materials, and special requests

Operations & Team Management:
  • Direct staffing operations including scheduling, supervision, training, payroll oversight, and development of Banquet House Attendants
  • Support cost control initiatives through proper storage, maintenance, and inventory management
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety throughout all service corridors, storage spaces, banquet rooms, and public areas
  • Conduct weekly linen inventories and quarterly inventories of equipment, furniture, chemicals, and supplies
  • Reconcile invoices against purchase orders to ensure billing accuracy
  • Maintain accountability and organization of all departmental assets and operational equipment

Facility Oversight:
  • Conduct daily inspections of front-of-house and back-of-house spaces
  • Report and follow up on maintenance or engineering concerns
  • Coordinate deep-cleaning schedules and specialty cleaning projects
  • Manage storage rooms, uniform areas, linen organization, and banquet equipment inventory

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a high-volume, high-end hospitality, hotel, banquet, or event environment
  • Strong understanding of luxury banquet operations and service standards
  • Experience supervising operational or housekeeping/event support teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Experience with systems such as Tripleseat, Prismm, Toast, Angus, or Kronos is a plus

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and push/pull equipment carts up to 250 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, climb, and work in varying environmental conditions
  • Manual dexterity and mobility required to support overnight operational demands
