Job description

Job Summary

We are hiring experienced Registered Dietitians (RD/RDN), Nutritionists, and Nutrition Professionals to support the development of advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) models. In this remote freelance opportunity, you will evaluate, annotate, and validate nutrition-related data to improve the quality, accuracy, and safety of AI-generated responses related to healthy eating, dietary habits, nutrition tracking, and wellness.

This is an excellent opportunity for professionals who are passionate about nutrition and interested in working on innovative AI projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review, annotate, and validate nutrition and dietary data from text, images, and meal logs.
  • Analyze food items, portion sizes, meal composition, and nutrient content.
  • Classify dietary patterns, meal timing, macronutrient distribution, and dietary preferences or restrictions.
  • Verify nutritional information using trusted food composition databases and nutrition references.
  • Identify inaccurate, inconsistent, or culturally ambiguous food entries.
  • Evaluate AI-generated nutrition content for scientific accuracy, safety, and relevance.
  • Follow annotation guidelines while maintaining high accuracy and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with project teams to improve AI model performance through high-quality data labeling.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science, Public Health Nutrition, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Nutrition Science
    • Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT)
    • Food Composition Databases
    • Dietary Assessment Methods
    • Macronutrients and Micronutrients
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets, structured datasets, and annotation tools.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Reliable internet connection.
  • MacBook preferred.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential.
  • Master's degree in nutrition science, Clinical Dietetics, or Public Health Nutrition.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of clinical, community, or outpatient nutrition counseling experience.
  • Experience with nutrition research, food analysis, or dietary assessment.
  • Previous AI/ML data annotation, data labeling, or quality assurance experience.
  • Experience working with multicultural or multilingual food datasets.
