Job Overview

As a Visitor Center Professional at Macy’s you are the most critical link in ensuring that our visiting National and International customer’s experience in our store is nothing less than Magical. 

Essential Functions

  • Provide concierge-style service at all times including in-store directions, product information, guest services information and sales; accountable for performing register transactions and participating in the daily opening and closing sales process
  • Learn and maintain current knowledge of store’s services, layout, products, marketing programs and media plans
  • Commitment to building customer relationships
  • Assist with driving sales, marketing shopping packages and group tours
  • Accountable for visitor center tracking, reporting, ordering and distribution of materials (including 10% savings coupons in store)
  • Manage convention group business, including solicitation, follow-up and shipment of collateral
  • Assist with in-store and external Tourism related events as needed
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality 

Qualifications and Competencies

  • No Education or Experience Required
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers
  • Resourceful and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities 
  • Resourceful self-starter, works well independently as well as part of a team, and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays
  • Prior experience in sales, administrative, or travel/hospitality preferred
  • Knowledge of a second language helpful
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Present a professional image consistent with Macy's brand values

Physical Requirements

  • Position requires prolonged periods of standing/walking around store or department
  • May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, color vision and climbing ladders
  • Frequent use of computers and other technology necessary to perform job duties, including handheld electronic equipment
  • Frequently lift/move up to 25lbs
