CNC Machinist (Second Shift)

Location: East Syracuse, NY
Job Type: Full-Time

Shift Time: 3:00 PM - 1:00 AM
Pay: $36.00 per hour, plus an additional 10% second shift differential

Our client is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist I to join their second-shift manufacturing team in East Syracuse, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist with experience in CNC setup, operation, and process optimization who is looking to grow with a well-established precision manufacturing company.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate 3-axis and 4-axis horizontal and vertical CNC machining centers.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings to produce precision-machined components.
  • Select the appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machining parameters for each job.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make real-time process adjustments to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
  • Train and mentor less experienced machinists as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of CNC machining experience with machine setup, operation, and optimization.
  • Experience operating both horizontal and vertical CNC machining centers.
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining and programming principles.
  • Ability to edit and write basic CNC macros.
  • Ability to identify and resolve machining issues during setup and production.
