Freelance Kitchen & Cabinet Designer (2020 Design / ProKitchen | Project-Based)

Location: Blakely, PA

Engagement: Freelance / 1099

Requirement: Must be available for in-person client meetings at our showroom

Design great kitchens -- without chasing leads or managing construction.

NEPA Builders is a well-established residential builder delivering high-quality remodels and new homes across Northeast Pennsylvania. We're looking for an experienced freelance kitchen & cabinet designer to partner with us on a project basis.

This role is perfect for an independent designer who wants consistent, builder-backed work, creative autonomy, and clear handoffs -- without sales pressure or project management headaches.

You focus on design. We handle the rest.

Scope of Work
  • Create kitchen and cabinet layouts using 2020 Design Software or ProKitchen
  • Collaborate with homeowners to refine layouts, cabinetry, and finishes
  • Attend scheduled virtual and in-person design meetings with homeowners at our Blakely, PA showroom
  • Design solutions that balance aesthetics, function, and budget
  • Coordinate with our internal team to ensure designs are construction-ready
  • Revise designs as needed based on site conditions or scope adjustments
  • Deliver clean, professional design packages on agreed timelines
What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of residential kitchen or cabinet design experience
  • Strong proficiency in 2020 Design or ProKitchen
  • Local or regional designer able to meet clients virtually and on-site in Blakely, PA
  • Reliable availability for scheduled showroom appointments
  • Solid understanding of cabinetry systems and residential construction
  • Professional communication and responsiveness
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own time
  • Experience with MasterBrand cabinetry is helpful, not required
Compensation & Flexibility
  • 1099 independent contractor
  • Paid per project or hourly equivalent (competitive, based on scope)
  • Flexible workload -- accept projects as availability allows
  • Remote-friendly design work
  • Clear scopes, organized projects, and consistent collaboration
Why Partner With NEPA Builders
  • No selling, no lead generation, no collections
  • Organized builder processes and realistic timelines
  • Respect for your design judgment and workflow
  • Designs that actually get built
  • Opportunity for long-term, repeat collaboration

If you're a skilled kitchen designer looking for a reliable builder partner and clean, professional projects, we'd love to connect. "We schedule design meetings in advance and respect freelancer availability."
