Job description

The Lead Engineer, Broadcast Services is a senior, hands-on engineering role at the center of CHESA’s broadcast and AV project delivery, serving as the technical authority who turns customer requirements into actionable system designs and leads on-site installation and commissioning nationwide. This person bridges design and execution, partnering closely with Project Management, Solutions Architecture, and Sales to keep projects technically sound, on scope, and on schedule, while also mentoring junior engineers and helping staff broadcast projects with qualified engineers and contractors. It’s an ideal fit for a broadcast systems veteran who wants ownership over both the technical strategy and the field execution of complex, multi-site projects.

Responsibilities
  • Own technical design and delivery – translate customer requirements and project scope into actionable system designs, and provide hands-on technical leadership from design through final commissioning.
    • Knowledge of CAD software required, WireCAD preferred
    • Relevant industry certifications preferred including SMPTE, AVIXA CTS, Q-SYS
  • Lead on-site installation and commissioning – serve as the on-site lead and escalation point for install teams, ensuring work meets spec, schedule, and quality standards, with direct client coordination in the field.
  • Support pre-sales and proposal development – partner with Solutions Architects and Sales on bids, SOWs, and RFP responses, validating that proposed solutions are technically sound and deliverable.
  • Manage risk against budget and schedule – flag technical risks and trade-offs early, and guide decisions that keep projects on time and on budget.
  • Build engineering bench strength – mentor junior engineers, support hiring and staffing (including freelance/contractor networks), and maintain broadcast documentation standards and best practices.
Performance Metrics
  • On-time, on-budget delivery of assigned broadcast projects
  • Quality and completeness of technical designs and documentation (system designs, as-builts, standards)
  • Successful on-site commissioning with minimal rework or escalationStrength and responsiveness of the surge staffing network (freelancers/contractors available when needed)
  • Growth and readiness of junior engineers mentored

Our compensation package includes:

CHESA offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package including:

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Retirement plan options
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Professional development and training opportunities
