Job description

Summary:
Prairie Mountain Media, a subsidiary of MediaNews Group, is seeking a Special Sections Coordinator to join our team. Support Prairie Mountain Media Advertising/Marketing teams via the production of advertising magazines and promotional campaigns.
Please note: While this is a remote position, candidates must reside in Colorado.
What you will do:
  • Produce high-quality, active, appealing magazines for print and digital includes content planning, editing, section design and layout and coordinating with freelance writers
  • Post advertising special section content to the Web
  • Set and maintain standards for quality of publications, including content, design, packaging and production flow
  • Participate in advertising kick-offs and sales presentations as it relates to advertising special section/feature launches
  • Uphold open channels of communication with all departments
  • Design campaigns/ads as needed to promote reader and sales promotions
  • Maintain a working knowledge of new trends in advertising/marketing, applying those to the daily operation

What you will bring:
  • Minimum two to three years in an advertising, marketing, publishing, or communications industry in the capacities outlined above preferred. Experience in related fields will be considered
  • Proficient in InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Microsoft Word; experience in Web design
  • Proven skills in graphic design, copywriting, copyediting and publication layout a must; Photography skills and web design experience (WordPress) are a plus
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of the commercial and newspaper printing process
  • Ability to work well with others, including external and internal customers
  • Knowledge of AP Style
  • Formal training in graphic design and copywriting required; Bachelor's degree in marketing or communications preferred

Benefits and Compensation:
The hourly range is $18.75 - $21.63 + cell stipend. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to geographic location, education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, the Company offers eligible employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, 401k, as well as paid time off and select paid holidays (all benefits are based on eligibility).
