American Consultants is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Tyler, Texas.

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, ICU – Tyler, TX 75701

Start Date: August 25, 2026

Location: Tyler, Texas

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) with block scheduling. Patient ratio of 1:2. Weekend coverage required (6 shifts per 6-week period). 36-hour orientation provided.

Highlights:
  • Medical-Surgical ICU with 16 beds and daily census of 14 patients
  • Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
  • Work with adult and geriatric patient populations in a dynamic critical care environment
  • Access to specialized equipment including CRRT (NXXT Stage) and full ICU technology
  • 13-week assignment with one pre-approved time off period available
  • Float based on schedule with consistent patient ratios across all shifts
Requirements:
  • Active RN license (state or compact) required at time of submission
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience preferred
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Experience with ventilator management, vasoactive drips, arterial lines, central line care, and critical care procedures
  • Must complete onboarding requirements within 48 hours of contract signing
  • Geographic restrictions apply; candidates residing in certain local counties are not eligible
