Position Summary:
A strategic, data-driven, and creative marketing leader to elevate one of Houston's largest and most recognized nonprofit brands. To modernize and expand the organization's marketing strategy across retail operations, donor engagement, community impact initiatives, and workforce development programs. Serve as a key strategic partner to executive leadership, shaping how the organization connects mission with measurable business growth and community impact. Provide strategic leadership for all marketing, branding, communications, digital engagement, and public-facing campaigns for GWH. Lead the development and execution of integrated marketing strategies that increase brand awareness, retail traffic, donor participation, community engagement, and workforce program visibility. A strategic thinker and hands-on leader who is comfortable driving enterprise-level marketing strategy while also executing campaigns, analyzing performance metrics, and optimizing results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop and lead the organization's overall marketing, communications, and brand strategy in alignment with Goodwill Houston's mission, vision, and long-term goals.
• Lead integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social media, print, broadcast, community outreach, and retail channels.
• Develop audience growth and engagement strategies that increase donor participation, retail traffic, workforce program awareness, and community engagement.
• Oversee brand positioning, messaging, storytelling, and communications to ensure a consistent and compelling voice across all channels.
• Analyze campaign performance, customer engagement, and marketing effectiveness using data-driven insights and reporting dashboards.
• Partner with Retail Operations, Workforce Development, Logistics, and executive leadership to align marketing initiatives with operational priorities and growth goals.
• Track and report on key performance indicators related to brand awareness, customer engagement, campaign ROI, retail growth, and donor participation.
• Lead content strategy and creative direction for campaigns, advertising, events, social media, and community engagement efforts.
• Develop and manage the annual marketing budget, ensuring responsible allocation of resources and measurable return on investment.
• Manage relationships with external vendors, agencies, freelancers, media partners, and community organizations.
• Monitor marketing trends, technologies, consumer behavior, and best practices to ensure Goodwill Houston remains innovative and competitive.
• Build, mentor, and develop a collaborative, high-performing marketing team.
• Provide regular strategic updates and recommendations to executive leadership regarding marketing opportunities, risks, and organizational visibility.

Minimum Qualifications:
• A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, business, or a related field is required; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Seven (7)+ years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, brand management, or digital marketing.
• Five (5)+ years of leadership or team management experience.
• Experience developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
• Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
• Experience with digital marketing platforms, CRM systems, marketing automation tools, and analytics dashboards.
• Experience with HubSpot, Google Analytics, Meta advertising platforms, SEO/SEM, email marketing, or related marketing technologies preferred.
• Strong project management, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Nonprofit, retail, consumer-facing, or mission-driven marketing experience a plus.
• Mission-driven mindset with a passion for community impact and organizational growth.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire; this position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.
