Freelance foodservice design involves independent professionals who specialize in planning and designing kitchens, dining areas, and food preparation spaces for restaurants, hotels, cafeterias, and other foodservice establishments. These designers work on a contract basis to create efficient, safe, and appealing layouts that meet health codes and client needs. Their services might include equipment selection, workflow optimization, compliance with regulations, and coordination with architects or contractors.
