Job description

We are looking for a Lead Pattern Maker with a top Atelier in NYC.
  • Pay rate: $85-90/hour

Responsibilities:
Pattern Development:
  • Interpret and analyze design sketches, technical drawings, and specifications to develop pattern templates for garments inclusive of Men's and Women's Tailoring.
  • Create patterns for various styles and sizes, ensuring proper fit and alignment with the design vision.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all patterns meet the brand's quality standards and comply with industry regulations. Ensure that all patterns meet the brand's quality standards and comply with industry regulations.

Grading:
  • Conduct grading of patterns to scale them up or down for different sizes while maintaining design proportions and fit consistency
  • Ensure accurate and proportional grading across all pattern pieces.

Sample Prototyping and Fit Sessions:
  • Work closely with sample makers to create prototypes of garments based on patterns.
  • Participate in fit sessions to assess the fit, drape, and comfort of the prototypes and provide feedback for adjustments.

Technical Specifications:
  • Generate detailed technical specifications, including measurements, construction details, and sewing instructions, to guide production

Pattern Amendments:
  • Analyze fit issues and make necessary adjustments to patterns to improve the fit and functionality of the garments.
  • Collaborate with designers and sample makers to implement design modifications

Collaboration:
  • Work closely with designers, product developers, and manufacturers to ensure accurate pattern execution and seamless production

Pattern Library Maintenance:
  • Organize and maintain a library of pattern templates, ensuring accessibility and consistency for future use.

Required Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of previous experience as a Patternmaker
  • Proven experience as a Patternmaker in the fashion industry with an emphasis on Tailored garments for both Men's and Women's.
  • Patternmaking and sewing classes, preferably training in Optitex or any similar patternmaking software
